After School Enrichment

High 5 Arts is an enrichment program for youth arts. We specialize in watercolors, drawing, clay (coming soon) and mixed media classes, workshops and camps.

Why the High 5?

At the end of a sports game the teams always line up and everyone gets a High 5, not for winning or losing but for showing up and participating.  At High 5 Arts our goal is to acknowledge OR celebrate participation and effort. High 5 to everyone who takes a risk on developing themselves through art exploration.

Philosophy

Philosophy

Projects are developed so students will build social skills, fine motors skills, and a new way to view the world through the arts. These skills will translate into all areas of participants’ life by building a confident, creative, well-rounded human being.  Our teaching artists are heavy on the positive. They teach through modeling creativity, openness and healthy practices.  We encourage conversation and dialogue rather than using traditional teacher-to-student methods.

Working with mixed age groups:

Our after school classes are available to all students, K-6th grade. We are providing an opportunity for student mentoring and a community that is not divided by grade.  Students will work with the instructor and their peers at their own pace. Projects are developed to be an open-ended challenge to all skill levels.
